For which substance or mixture?
  • if the substance or mixture meets the criteria for classification as dangerous according to CLP (Directive 67/548/EEC or 1999/45/EC1)
  • if the substance is persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) or very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB) in accordance with criteria in Annex XIII of REACH
  • if the substance is listed as candidates for possible inclusion in Annex XIV REACH (substances that are subject to approval).


The supplier shall provide a safety data sheet if the substance meets the criteria for classification as hazardous but contains:

  • at least one substance posing human health or the environment with a concentration of ≥ 1 wt.% for non-gaseous preparations and ≥ 0.2 vol.% by volume for gaseous preparations,
  • at least one substance that is persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) or very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB) in accordance with the criteria in Annex XIII of REACH at a concentration ≥ 0.1 wt.% for non-gaseous preparations,
  • substances listed candidates for eventual inclusion in Annex XIV REACH (substances subject to approval) at a concentration ≥ 0.1 wt. % For non-gaseous preparations
